About RIVAL JIU-JITSU
Rival Jiu-Jitsu was built on the idea that a great academy doesn’t need to be complicated. There are no cliques here, no confusing hierarchies, no drama. Just focused, structured training and a team atmosphere that welcomes everyone. Whether you’re just stepping onto the mat for the first time or returning to sharpen your competitive edge, you’ll find a place where you can belong, train seriously, and improve steadily.
Our approach prioritizes strong fundamentals, precise technical development, and a mindset of continuous learning. We emphasize clean, respectful training partners, safe progressions, and consistent instruction in both Gi and No-Gi. We’re here to help people of all backgrounds—whether they’re professionals looking to decompress after work or fitness enthusiasts searching for a more meaningful way to train—find their place in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

Owner/Head PROFESSOR
JARED
Deubel
Head Instructor Jared Deubel began his BJJ journey over 13 years ago under the direct instruction of world-renowned grappler JT Torres. Jared immersed himself in the art with tireless dedication, spending thousands of hours studying, drilling, and applying high-level Jiu-Jitsu. But his pursuit of mastery didn’t stop at Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Understanding the power of a well-rounded grappling game, Jared trained extensively in both Judo and wrestling. These two disciplines now complement his BJJ instruction and help enrich the Rival curriculum.
As a competitor, Jared has tested his skills across multiple tournaments and has earned recognition for his performance and technical versatility. As an instructor, he is known for breaking down complex positions into digestible, repeatable movements that build skill and confidence from day one. What makes Jared’s teaching truly special is his ability to meet students where they are. He coaches with intensity when it is needed, while always keeping the energy positive, calm, and focused.
His goal for Rival Jiu-Jitsu was never just to run a gym. He set out to build a serious academy—one that respects lineage and tradition, while encouraging innovation and personal growth. The result is a space that stays small enough to feel like a tight-knit team, but strong enough to develop real martial artists.
